Chocolate & Puffed Rice Balls

Crunchy homemade chocolate balls filled with the goodness of nuts. These chocolate and puffed rice balls are great for lunchboxes, snack time and midnight munchies (if you are like me!)

I often see people complaining about the ‘sagas’ written in a recipe blog. The common point in all these complaints is that ‘a recipe blog should have only the recipe’. Keeping them in mind, this post’s going to be super short! But probably just this once…

So let’s just cut to the chase and talk only about these crunchy-licious chocolate balls. A take on the murir moa (Bengali puffed rice laddoos), these chocolate and puffed rice balls come together in a jiffy, making them an ideal sweet treat for guests or your lunch box.

I’ve put in nuts to make it healthier. Or rather, to assuage my guilt over eating too much chocolate. If you have a nut allergy, make these without the medley of dried fruits. Other nut replacements you can try out are mini marshmallows, dried coconut bits and dried berries. Each of these, combined with the richness of dark chocolate and crunch of puffed rice, will give you a different flavour and texture.
